USA Pro Steel

The Universal Shooting Academy (USA) Pro Steel pistol is a shortened, lightened 9mm gun designed to shoot minor loads.  The USA Pro Steel was designed specifically for and in collaboration with World and National shooting champion Frank Garcia.  As owner and lead instructor of the USA training center, Frank knows what works best and can yield the best match results.  Pairing a top shooter with a top gunsmith has produced one of the finest Steel pistols currently available.  (Gun pictured is for a left-handed shooter.)un pictured is for a left-handed shooter.)

USA Pro Steel Gun Specifications

Caliber:

  • 9 mm minor only
     

Frame: 

  • Brazos Modular Double Stack (MDS) short/wide frame
     

Slide: 

  • Shortened Brazos Lightning classic slide with ZigRacker installed

  • Flat-topped with iconic Brazos slide lightning (oblong holes in the front and Bullet cocking serrations in the back)

  • Slide fit to frame with minimum clearance

Barrel/Comp: 

  • Custom, shortened Bar-Sto one-piece barrel/comp

  • USA Pro Steel compensator cuts with two up ports

  • Chamber freebored for loads up to 1.175 OAL

  • Barrel crown custom cut

  • Barrel ramp angle cut for most reliable feeding
     

Grip: 

  • Poly grip recommended (total weight with poly grip = 40 oz.)

  • Optional Cheely steel grip with Cheely magwell (+$600) - This grip has a "pinned" beavetail that does not provide any safety function.

Finish:

  • Black Diamond Like Coating (DLC)

  • Thumb safety, beavertail, and barrel silver (uncoated) stainless steel

  • “USA Pro Steel” logo

 

Trigger: 

  • Trigger pull set to your specifications

  • Medium or long curve trigger or flat trigger cut to your optimal length and shape

  • Custom, shortened hollow guide rod that uses a 5-inch government recoil spring

  • Stainless ambi safety (non shielded)

  • Drilled and tapped mag release

  • Brazos Cyclone mag release button (silver or black)
     

Sights: 

  • C-More RTS2 scope with your choice MOA

  • Optional RomeoMax 3 or Romeo3 XL scope with 6MOA (+$400)

  • Brazos Slipstream scopemount with integral blast shield
     

Magazine: 

  • One tuned MBX 141.25mm length magazine

  • Magazine slide-lock disabled – gun will not lock back after last round is discharged

All Brazos guns are built exclusively by Bob – no assembly line and no junior/trainee gunsmith working on your pistol.  We use only top quality parts that are hand-fitted and hand tuned to ensure maximum performance and reliability. We manufacture many parts in-house or have them made to our specs by industry leaders.  At the end of the build process each gun is test fired for function and accuracy.  Bob test fires your gun prior to coating and then again after coating.  As a part of the final (after coating) test fire, he sights the gun in so that it is ready to go out of the box.
